The SMMC is a selectable clutch with three modes (free spinning, locked, transition). It is positioned on the transmission input shaft of a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission and allows a seamless transition between EV and combustion engine driving. The SMMC has an electro magnetic actuation with very short response time. A position sensor is integrated to provide an accurate state of the clutch.
