Apprenticeship
Our Apprenticeship Program is designed to teach employees the tools of the trade in order to further their careers at Schaeffler. Participants are hired as regular, full- or part-time employees and enjoy the same benefits offered to other Schaeffler employees, including compensation, paid time off and health care coverage.
Apprenticeships require up to four years of training on the job under the supervision of an instructor or journeyperson, and include classroom instruction in subjects related to the trade, including mathematics, science and other technical information. In addition, the program makes a clear connection between the theory that is taught in the classroom and the way that it is applied in the workplace—the apprentice will receive a minimum number of hours per year of instruction in theory related to the trade. All school expenses are paid for by Schaeffler and include books, tuition and supplies. The Apprenticeship Program is sponsored in joint cooperation with the local state and the Federal Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training under the Department of Labor.
