- Schaeffler to present innovative technology solutions for a more sustainable transportation sector
- Victor Norwich to present “A Comprehensive Approach to Battery Systems” during Battery Tech Workshop
- Schaeffler to showcase complete systems solutions across chassis, powertrains, electrification, and systems integration for optimized performance
Schaeffler, the Motion Technology Company, will showcase innovative technologies for sustainable transportation through its comprehensive heavy-duty applications portfolio, from single components to complete systems, in booth #2727 at ACT Expo, April 28-30, at the Anaheim Convention Center. While at the event, Victor Norwich, manager of battery systems, will present A Comprehensive Approach to Battery Systems during the Battery Tech Workshop, Keynote 2, on Monday, April 28, at 12:30 p.m. PT.
Schaeffler’s presence at ACT Expo reinforces its commitment to driving the future of motion through the engineering and manufacturing of eco-efficient system solutions that contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable commercial vehicle industry. To support ambitious emission reduction targets, the company continues to develop cutting-edge solutions that enhance vehicle performance and support diverse powertrain technologies. With its deep systems expertise, Schaeffler offers tailored solutions across four key areas: chassis systems, efficient internal combustion powertrains, battery electric and fuel cell powertrains, and advanced systems integration. This comprehensive approach maximizes efficiency, enhances powertrain performance, and meets the evolving needs of the industry, offering a complete range of vehicle components that support the shift to cleaner, more efficient commercial transportation.
“As the needs of the commercial vehicle industry continue to evolve, Schaeffler remains committed to advancing technologies that improve efficiency and performance,” said Thomas Heck, director key account management heavy duty customers, Americas. Our presence at ACT Expo highlights our commitment to delivering comprehensive solutions from battery systems to advanced powertrain components to support the shift to cleaner, more sustainable transportation.”
Powertrain Battery Electric (BEV) & Fuel Cell (FCEV)
Electric powertrains for BEV and FCEV continue to increase for the global medium - and heavy-duty vehicle production. Schaeffler supports this shift with a comprehensive range of electrified powertrain technologies, from electric motors and fuel cell systems to power electronics. Within its exhibit, the company will showcase solutions such as scalable heavy-duty traction motors, fuel cell stacks, and battery pack immersion cooling designed to improve performance, thermal management, and overall system efficiency. The exhibit also includes Schaeffler’s advanced sensors, valves, and control units that optimize hydrogen storage, airflow and temperature regulation to enhance vehicle reliability and safety.
Chassis
Schaeffler will showcase its latest chassis technologies designed to support highly automated driving, offering a key solution as the industry faces an increasing shortage of drivers. Included are the electronic recirculating ball (eRCB), pinion bearing, and power wheel, which enhance steering systems for improved vehicle control. The display will also feature Schaeffler’s low voltage power distribution unit, designed to smartly distribute electrical power at a low voltage level.
Powertrain ICE
The company’s exhibit will feature its internal combustion engine (ICE) technologies, engineered to improve combustion efficiency in hydrogen, diesel, and natural gas engines to reduce CO2 emissions. Featured advancements include the iFlexAir and iRockAir variable valvetrain cylinder heads, hydraulic cam phasers, and turbocharger ball bearings, all designed to enhance engine performance and efficiency. The display will also highlight Schaeffler’s advanced sensors and actuators, such as the NOx Sensor, which support precise engine control and emissions management.
Systems Know-How
Electrified powertrains have been part of Schaeffler’s core business since 2018. Leveraging its extensive systems expertise, the company ensures optimal interaction between subsystems and components, including electric motors, power electronics, wheel bearings, transmissions and actuators, to deliver efficient and reliable performance. Schaeffler will showcase advanced technologies such as the heavy-duty (HD) electric motor, HD power electronic unit, electric e-axle actuator (EAA), and wheel bearings, designed to enhance efficiency and performance in complex systems like the HD electric axle.
In addition, Schaeffler’s Dynamic Performance Vehicle exhibit will showcase the company’s full range of technologies for electrified powertrains, featuring five key component systems: thermal management modules, e-drives, inverters, batteries, and battery management systems.
