Schaeffler Automotive Symposium 2026 Schaeffler Automotive Symposium showcases technologies shaping the future of motion
2026-09-17 | Fort Mill S.C.
- Flagship technology event brings together motion technologies and engineering expertise to highlight innovations across vehicle control, powertrain, chassis and body, and energy management
Schaeffler will bring its latest motion technologies and engineering expertise together at the Schaeffler Automotive Symposium on Thursday, Sept. 17, at The Department at Hudson’s, Detroit, highlighting solutions designed to address the evolving demands of the automotive and industrial industries, as well as emerging areas of mobility.
The flagship technology event, held under the theme “Beyond Driving. Together We Innovate.”, will connect Schaeffler experts, customers, and industry partners for a closer look at how technologies are coming together to create the next generation of vehicles.
“The future of the automotive industry will be shaped by how effectively technologies work together to address increasingly complex vehicle requirements,” said Marc McGrath, Regional CEO Americas, Schaeffler. “Our Automotive Symposium provides a unique opportunity to bring that thinking to life—connecting Schaeffler’s broad technology portfolio, engineering expertise and customer focus across the complete vehicle architecture. It demonstrates how we are turning innovation into solutions that address the challenges our customers face today and those ahead.”
Symposium highlights include:
- Four technology clusters showcasing Schaeffler solutions across Vehicle Control, Powertrain, Chassis & Body, and Energy Management
- 19 technical presentations featuring Schaeffler experts highlighting technologies, engineering approaches and customer-focused solutions for the evolving mobility landscape.
- 100 exhibits and demonstrator vehicles offering attendees an opportunity to explore how Schaeffler innovations are addressing real-world challenges across the vehicle.
Four technology clusters, one connected view of mobility
The Symposium will be organized around four technology clusters that reflect Schaeffler’s broad capabilities across the vehicle:
Vehicle Control will explore technologies that enhance how vehicles sense, respond and interact with their environment, supporting improved vehicle dynamics, safety, comfort and control.
Powertrain will highlight Schaeffler’s technologies for conventional, hybrid and electric powertrains, with a focus on efficiency, performance, reliability and the changing requirements of future mobility.
Chassis and Body will demonstrate how intelligent actuation and chassis technologies can influence driving experience, vehicle dynamics, comfort and functionality—from advanced chassis systems to technologies that support new vehicle architectures.
Energy Management will showcase solutions designed to optimize energy use throughout the vehicle, including technologies that support battery performance, thermal management and energy efficiency.
Together, the four clusters demonstrate how Schaeffler is combining expertise across vehicle systems to develop technologies that address increasingly complex customer and industry requirements.
Beyond automotive
The Symposium also will extend beyond traditional automotive applications, reflecting Schaeffler’s broader expertise in electrification, motion technology, industrial solutions and emerging areas of mobility.
The Beyond Automotive cluster highlights how Schaeffler’s motion technology expertise extends beyond traditional automotive applications into emerging industries, demonstrating how its products and technologies can enable new possibilities outside traditional mobility. Featured innovations include actuator technologies for humanoid robots, electric motors designed for eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) aircraft, and high-precision bearings for satellite gyroscope wheels. Together, these technologies demonstrate Schaeffler’s ability to apply its expertise in motion, actuation and precision engineering across a range of evolving applications.
Shaping the future of motion
With decades of experience developing technologies for the automotive industry, Schaeffler brings together expertise in mechanical systems, electrification, electronics, software and mechatronics to develop integrated solutions shaping the future of motion.
The Schaeffler Automotive Symposium provides a forum for sharing that expertise with customers, media and industry stakeholders while demonstrating how Schaeffler is evolving its technology portfolio to meet changing market demands.
“Beyond Driving. Together we innovate.” captures the focus of this year’s event: moving beyond individual technologies to explore how collaboration, systems expertise and innovation can shape what comes next for mobility.
