Schaeffler was named a 2025 Automotive News PACE Award winner at the awards ceremony on April 15. The prestigious award recognizes automotive suppliers for superior innovation, technological advancement, and business performance.

Schaeffer was recognized for its High Efficiency Rear Wheel Steering System. The 48-volt rear-wheel steering system improves maneuverability and provides better integration, efficiency and performance as it enhances the turning radius and stability for large SUVs and trucks. The system has an electromagnetic interference-immune sensor which ensures reliable performance with modern vehicles and its planetary roller gear mechanism further reduces energy consumption.

“For 30 years, the PACE program has celebrated cutting-edge innovations that have shaped the automotive industry on a global level,” said Jamie Butters, executive editor of Automotive News. “The companies on this year’s list have pioneered significant technologies that will continue to propel the industry forward.”

The 30th annual PACE Awards were presented by Automotive News. The competition was open to suppliers that contribute products, processes, materials, or services directly to the manufacture of cars or trucks. The Automotive News PACE Award is accepted around the world as the industry benchmark for innovation.

“Receiving the 2025 PACE Award for our chassis technology is a proud milestone that reflects our dedication to transforming maneuverability and driving precision. This honor inspires us to keep pushing boundaries by advancing technologies that not only move vehicles but also drive the entire industry forward,” said Matt Frary, president, powertrain & chassis, Schaeffler.

Schaeffler earned an Automotive News PACE Award following an extensive review by an independent panel of judges including a comprehensive written application and an in-person site visit.
