  • New Schaeffler radial insert ball bearings feature stainless-steel or thermoplastic housings designed to meet the stringent demands of the food & beverage industry
  • IP69K-certified for superior protection against liquid and solid contaminants
  • Advanced cartridge seal with NSF/H1-certified food-grade grease ensures reliable performance and safety

As part of its ongoing commitment to innovation and serving the food & beverage industry, global motion technology company Schaeffler has unveiled its new lineup of INA Stainless-Steel Radial Insert Ball Bearings. Available with housings made from rugged stainless steel or lightweight thermoplastic, these bearings are engineered to meet the demands for corrosion resistance, reliability and stringent hygiene standards required by the food & beverage sector.

A Comprehensive Solution for Industry-Leading Protection and Reliability
Designed to deliver reliable performance and uncompromised hygiene, Schaeffler's new radial insert ball bearings are IP69K-certified, ensuring outstanding protection against the ingress of both liquid and solid contaminants, while also preventing the egress of grease – even during high-pressure, high-temperature washdowns. This certification underscores Schaeffler's commitment to providing products that meet the rigorous sanitation and operational standards of the food & beverage industry.

“Our new portfolio of radial insert ball bearings, equipped with advanced sealing systems and available stainless-steel or thermoplastic housings, enables Schaeffler to offer manufacturers in the food & beverage industry a new level of reliability and protection for their production processes and, by extension, their customers,” said Agricio Pereira, Schaeffler Americas product manager for mounted products & spherical roller bearings.

INA Stainless-Steel Radial Insert Ball Bearings: Outperforming the competition
Schaeffler’s INA-branded stainless-steel bearing inserts have been engineered to set the standard for corrosion resistance and extended service life. Crafted from corrosion-resistant steel, each component – from the inner and outer rings to the rolling elements and cages – is designed to withstand the harshest operating environments. The bearing inserts feature an advanced cartridge seal, packed with NSF/H1-certified food-grade grease, that offers superior protection against contaminants while preventing grease from leaking. Extensive testing has shown Schaeffler’s new stainless-steel radial insert ball bearings to outperform leading competitors with respect to running friction – which offers both cost savings and sustainability benefits – as well as grease retention and water ingress.

Available in both inch and metric bores, along with options for standard and offset mounting, Schaeffler radial insert ball bearings provide exceptional versatility for a wide range of applications. For maximum flexibility, the bearing inserts are available for purchase with or without a housing.

Radial Insert Ball Bearing Housings: Safety. Reliability. Performance.
To maximize the performance and longevity of its radial insert ball bearings, Schaeffler offers housings made from either stainless-steel or thermoplastic. Both housing options offer shared benefits that are crucial for the food & beverage industry, including IP69K-certification, antimicrobial properties, and exceptional resistance to pitting damage caused by the chemicals and solvents used in intensive cleaning procedures.

Stainless-Steel Housings: Built for Strength and Durability
Schaeffler's stainless-steel housings for radial insert ball bearings are the perfect choice for environments where strength and resilience are of primary importance. Designed to offer greater tensile strength, these housings are especially resistant to deformation and cracks. Their construction ensures that they do not absorb moisture, even after frequent washdowns, making them ideal for the rigorous cleaning cycles typical in the food & beverage industry. Available in both metric and inch sizes, Schaeffler’s stainless-steel housings are also lubricated for life, ensuring minimal maintenance and maximum operational uptime.

Thermoplastic Housings: Lightweight and Economical
Schaeffler's thermoplastic housings are crafted from glass fiber-reinforced PBT plastic, providing a lightweight yet robust alternative to their stainless-steel counterparts. In addition to offering significant cost savings, thermoplastic housings are also resistant to electrical currents and high temperatures – which makes them a versatile option for a variety of challenging operating environments. Schaeffler thermoplastic housings for stainless-steel radial ball bearings are available in metric sizes.
