Schaeffler Appoints Uwe Halbing to Chief Financial Officer, Americas

Schaeffler today announced the appointment of Uwe Halbing to Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Americas effective November 1. He succeeds Claus Bauer, who was recently appointed CFO for the Schaeffler Group.
Based in Fort Mill, South Carolina, the company’s regional headquarters, Halbing will be responsible for all finance functions and information technology, covering engineering, sales and manufacturing operations across eight countries.

Halbing previously served as Automotive Controlling, Americas and CFO for the U.S., where he was responsible for the planning and financial reporting of Americas Automotive business and for the compliance of the financial results of the Schaeffler U.S. legal entities.
He previously served as Director of Controlling for North America, and successfully led the implementation of the company’s new finance module of the standard Schaeffler enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. Before that, Halbing spent six years in Stratford, Canada, as Automotive Production Controller for North America. He joined Schaeffler in 1995 and has held roles of increasing responsibility in both Germany and the Americas region.
Halbing earned a degree in business and mechanical engineering from the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt and completed an apprenticeship program in agricultural sciences.
