Innovation: Mechatronic Bearing Support System for Computer Tomography

A world-class solution has arisen from collaboration with renowned computer tomography manufacturers: an integrated mechatronic bearing support system, consisting of a highly accurate and quiet hybrid thin-section bearing with direct drive as well as high-precision adjacent parts.

The bearing itself is a further development from FAG aviation engineering and therefore has all the characteristics that have the highest priority in CT scanners: 100% operational reliability with the highest level of running accuracy, as well as being low noise. The trend towards increasing speeds in computer tomography can now be met without any problems. Speeds of over 300 rpm have already been demonstrated.

FAG’s solution offers manufacturers of CT equipment further time and cost advantages: They can now directly install a pre-mounted and tested bearing support and drive system without the need for additional assembly work and testing.
